Hi everyone. I have a Merida with Shimano Steps E6010. I can't find a way to connect it via Bluetooth to my phone. Am I to take it that you can't do this or am I missing something?

I have a hybrid Merida with that motor and its not possible, there is no bluetooth on the E6000 series as far as I know.

I am assuming that the method of connecting to the 6000 series is the same as for he 8000 series.

I had problems with connecting to the 8000 series. The guy at the LBS went back to my phone settings and connected via Bluetooth from there. Once he'd done that I went back to using the E-TUBE app and I went straight in.

Another error I was making was a newbie problem. :giggle:

On the bike display, I did as instructed and went to the Bluetooth connection part. But I learned that I was then supposed to activate that by pressing the display button for a few seconds which gave me an enter or exit option. (or similar words), Obs opt for enter. :)

Thanks for the replies. How would I check or upload a firmware update if there is no Bluetooth connection? Does this mean I'm stuck on the firmware the bike came with? Sorry for more questions. I'm new to all this stuff.

You may be able to go to a dealer and see if there are any updates - on the E7000 and E8000 systems you can plug a lap top in and update/play with setting, dont know about the E6000 though

No you can upgrade the firmware with the sm-pce1 tool from shimano IIRC they are approx £140 but the dealer should have one
