Dropper

Brand X Ascend 150mm - good to use as a dropper, or is the Specialized one that much better (at twice the price, at the mo!). Any other good options to consider?

X Fusion Manic seems to be used on the next model up - £170 compared to £120 for the Brand X..... someone said that the lever on theBrand X was less good..... others said it needed less maintenance.....

the newer (current) brand x lever is actually sweet.
the posts themselves are generally great/reliable but even if you get one that doesn't hold up CRC are brilliant with warranty. (2yr warranty).
maintenance wise (except for reverbs) they're all pretty much the same, a top seal clean/regrease once once a while and cable maintenance when/if required. Bushings/keys are available for the brand-x posts (and others) if you wear them out and want to revive them.
