I believe it is if you are replacing the outer cable, I have had my dropper post warrantied but that was just taking out the seatpost. I've also had the motor out on my bike to change the rear brake. Aswell as the missus' shimano motor out on her bike (Diamondback Ranger 2.0) it's fairly simple.
Takes a bit of faffing to work it out in the first place but I can drop it out and have it back in 10 - 15 mins now. The motor is held in by 6 big allen bolts, I normally undo the front 4 and leave the back 2 in and just pivot the motor down while I feed cables.
If you have any other questions feel free to post I may be able to answer
Can you just reuse the cable outer and run a new inner cable? Thats what I usually do on my EMTB's, I am a bit of a serial seat post/dropper remote swapper
