Hello all, got myself a Cube Reaction Hybrid EXC for just over two weeks now and I'm loving it. I have been using for mainly commuting not have the time to take it for a long weekend fun as yet. I have recently fitted Acid Mudguards but during the process of putting everything back together I stupidly overtighten the thru axle. I've managed to get the axle out but the allan slot have sustained damage. The axle come fitted on my bike is a NEWMEN 12x148. Any idea if this the same as X-12 syntace specified by Cube themselves? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hiw about this;

The picture's wrong but the measurements seem correct?

If you managed to round a hex slot, put it in a vice, get a bigger Torx bit and hammer that in the hole. Remove with pliers and you now have a torx fitting for your bike

looking at the dimensions the Syntace X-12 seem to match. I would give them a try

+1 Jackware for the Robert Project!

I am looking to replace my thru axle Newmen 12x148 Y1279 for pulling my kidstrailer Thule Cross 2 and i made a mistake buying a shimano m12x1,5 thule thru axle 20110734

Because i am full shimano, i thought my thru axle was shimano too! Error

Pitch is 1.0 and conic, so it is Syntace 20110733 which is compatible for my bike

Thanks to Jackware, i found the magical Axe Finder

Axle Finder - The Robert Axle Project

And for you Bundit, this one should fit
Lightning Bolt-on Axle - Rear 12 mm x 168-173 mm x 1.0 Thread - The Robert Axle Project

My new Syntace x-12 axle finally arrived. My next question is, Do I need to grease the axle as the current one have some sort of grease on it and what type of grease should I be using??

Very nice, I like the colour of your Bike, I was looking for the same colour but unfortunately I couldn't get them anywhere in the UK (not for a few months anyway) so ended up with grey/green one instead.

Hi Bundit, how is the rear mudguard attached at the bottom bracket area of the frame? is it bolted or is there an adapter? i've just bought some and they are for a bolt attachment, but my bike doesn't have a bolt position there to secure it and there is no adapter.
