Unanswered Command Post Fix?

My Specialized Command Post IRCC 125mm keeps dropping randomly. The cable/lever set up seems fine. Can the post itself be fixed/repaired? At the moment I’m looking for a replacement, but if it could be fixed relatively easily/cheaply then obviously that would be preferable. Thanks

I had exactly the same issue with mine. I dropped the battery out and fed the dropper post cable through to the seat tube a little - I wanted the seatpost a little higher, there's no slack to allow this unless the cable is pulled though a little. Works perfectly now, cost=£0!

Thanks, I’ll try that, but I don’t think it’s a cable tension problem as it was quite loose at the lever end until I took up the slack with the barrel adjuster

Could the cable be nicked somewhere along the routing?

Thanks, it’s pulling smoothly so I don’t think it’s that. I’ve tried what Epicko said and will try it on a ride tomorrow, thanks for your advice, Martin

I had mine drop at full extension about 5mm.
The brass keys were smashed at the top, causing it to over extend. Turned them around, and all fixed.

Also check the top cap is screwed on tight, mine came loose and the pressure had dropped. tightened back up and added more pressure, sorted.

Probs a the internal collet then. They have a habit of breaking fingers off them.

The new one worked fine without changing the existing lever/cable. I’ll be selling old one spares/repairs if anybody fancies a challenge.

I think i do have this, too... didn't care much about it until i read your post. Will check that
