I wanted a city cruizer, and as I tend to try to build most things myself (skis / snowboards / longboards etc) I decided to try building my own Bamboo bike.
You can either do it completely yourself, or do most of it in a weekend course. I opted for the course, as it saves shit loads of time as they have a pipe cutter for cutting the butted ends of the frame pieces.
I did it through Bamboo Bicycle club in Munich. If you are interested, google it.
Definitely a fun project.
I decided to combine my leather working skills to make it a bit unique. Was very happy with the results.
Has a Gates belt drive, Sram G8 Hub gears, Shimano hydraulic disk brakes, Shimano dynamo hub.Great for riding to work. I keep it in the cellar at work, and in my appartment in Basel.
