Bosch front chainring

I’ve noticed when cleaning the bike, just behind the Bosch small front chainring there is usually some trapped debris, dead leaves etc. I make sure that I pick all this out.
I’ve also notice a bit of factory grease in this area.
Should I periodically add more bike grease to this area or is this a bad idea?

I regularly remove the chainring and the plastic guard that shields the bearing, clean and add a small amount of grease to the face of the bearing before replacing the plastic guard. Appears to help keep water and other debris out.
