Bike stand

Hi, hey what do folk think and holding your EMTB on a bike stand, I have a Park Tools stand and want to stick my bike on, manly to just hold it up so it doesn't fall over and so I don't have to lean it on the wall, On PT channel they are saying it's fine to hold it by the seat post with a clean clamp, this was of course not an ENTB so with the added weight can this be done, I have it like this at the moment but with the front wheel on the ground to help with the weight, is this a good idea or not.
