Interestingly my 2020 Reign e+ 1 Pro which I bought from a UK Giant dealer 3 weeks ago came with the 625wh battery - despite the spec on the Giant UK still listing all Reigns and Trance models as having a 500wh unit. Obviously I’m pretty happy about this! I wonder if they’ve started shipping the 625wh by default now...

If anyone in NZ ends up selling their old 500wh, let me know!
Hello my Wellingtonian friend, are you still interested in a second battery? I may decide to sell my 500W/hr from my 2019 Trance SX and possibly post it on mtb NZ ? Still keen to keep this as a second battery but wife (forensic - accountant) may have a fair say, as had LBS quoted me.........NZ$1600.00 for the 625W/hr. WoW! Just pondering if two kidneys really necessary vs a bigger battery??

I for one will be keeping the old 500 WH.

The heavy construction, and quality of the 2019 packs and cells, is proven in my mind. My 2019 battery has worn out the bike it came with, and still accepts more WH of charge than it was specified with new.

My 2019 trance battery also fits my 2021 tranx, cover swap needed. Which makes it a backup for the new bike(s) in case of emergencies with suppliers like Giant.

Gidday! Let me know what you decide to do. I might be interested.

Was think about doing the Old Ghost Road in a day which isn't possible on a single battery :)

Even if you were willing to lend it, I'd flick you some $$ :)

Hit me up if you need a Welly riding buddy too

It is a very linear improvement, a 25% increase is what you will get. I have been using a 500wh for one year and the 625wh for half a year and that is the improvement I got more or less :)

The key is to understand the terminology.

A battery is absolutely nothing more that a power storage container and is rated as follows.

a 500wh battery can supply 500 watts for 1hour. Or 250 watts for 2 hrs or 100 watts for 5 hrs.

You used to be able to store 500wh and now you can store 25% more so a Rider using the same route and power will travel 25% further.

Thanks pal... I'm just thinking about upgrade my battery ... but 720Euro it is so much, that I'm start to calculate that real improvement of range is necessary for my riding. In place that I live, i'm making not more than 3000-3300ft eleveation gain thru 3-3,5h ride, so I don't really suffer low lvl battery issue....;) so that is the reason why I'm asking about real adv of bigger battery ;)
