Am I right in thinking I need an XD hub for the eagle cassette?
Thinking of buying new mavic wheelset, had 2 pair on other bikes and been faultless for years of riding.

cheers

It depends. The pg-1230 NX eagle 12 speed cassette fits a standard freehub body. The higher end stuff with somewhat more range requires the XD driver.

Generally the number of teeth on the smallest cog will tell you. 11T normally fits the standard freehub and 10T requires one of the new standards like XD.

I just checked tech listo of 2020 E+ O Pro... and they put PG-1230 11-50 Sram NX cassette... so You can do it both ways. Staying with NX cassette ( IMHO not bad idea, full steel cogs and cheap) and buy a wheelset with HG (standard) freehub body or buy wheelset with XD Sram freehub body and that need to buy more expensive 10-50 or 10-52 cassette with smallest cog 10T.
