I think the Fox online spring rate calculator is supposed to be fairly close. My bike turned up with a leaking fork and had to be sent off for warrant so I'm on a loan XL bike with a 500lb spring, definitely too soft for me.
Interesting that you know how many tokens you need in your fork/shock yet you haven't sorted the day properly yet because you are asking for others opinions. You also stated that in your experience Fox are 20% out with their recommended settings, if that's the case, use your experience and...
It's not about putting more effort in. There is a certain speed most people will get down a trail and 25km/h sits right on that limit for alot of us. I don't stare at the speedo when riding a trail so the cutout can catch you by surprise, add the fact that on most bikes it adds a noticeable...
I must be made different, I use the low gears more on my eBike. Whenever I'm out riding a I see a hill that looks mildly do-able I'll have a crack at it. It's the fun of having an eBike.
Hope you get it sorted dude. I just blew my shock and paid to get it fixed as warranty was going to take too long. I even tried to buy an upgraded coil shock but there was no stock in the size I needed.
It looks like the screw holding the valve and shim together came out, interesting failure.
How many miles reviewing the AXS system does Gary have seems likes a relevant question right now? Besides, I live in Australia so aside from gargantuan floods (lol) mud isn't an issue for me...not that I think it will be for anyone else though. Just Gary.
Amazing how differnt poeple are, why do you want to 'feel' a gearchange on an mtb? I just want it to change gear. Just like my car with a dual clutch transmission, I don't want it to be slow, inefficient and feel the change, I want it change gear fast, precise and repeatedly.
Might have been a stick or something that got caught and caused the bend. Most cassette's are made from similar materials, even the expensive ones, though they are constructed differently.
I'm 100Kg's and don't go light on my bike and the cheap ass SX cassette has held up so far.
My mate is 6'2 and the same weight as me (100kg) and he rides my Norco Sight VLT okay in a large (I'm 5'11). He says he would get an XL if buying one himself. It's a great bike, especially when pointing down the trail.
100% agree with this. I deristricted my bike because the 25km/h limit is too slow. My local trails are fast and flowy with nice berms to carry speed, I would hit 25km/h may times on a run down and it's unnerving when it happens right before a jump. Those extra few Km's to 32km/h are enough to...
Sure, perhaps to a small extent. The oil it mixes with is just the stuff in the aircan that's there for shits and giggles. The oil that's doing the actual damping is seperate.
It reduces stiction in your suspension by ensuring the seals are proeprly lubed.
I'm not sure I would be using SRAM butter though, it's a grease. Make sure you don't end up with a greasy shaft :p
I must be a faster rider than I thought having broken my shock on Sunday :p It's only done 180Km's as well. That's me off the bike for the next few weeks whilst it gets sorted.
Anyone else have Super Deluxe Select + drop the oil completely and make a 'thunk' sound when compressed? I pulled...
