Yeah. You still need tools wherever you ride imo. 1l of water in a pack doesn't bother me tbh but I get some people don't like to carry any size bag.

I prefer to take a hydration pack. Carry a fre tools and mobile phone. It also offers a small amount of back protection if you come off which isn't a bad thing.

Mukoff dry lube I use at the moment. Seems decent chain doesn't fill up with black sludge anymore.

Soft compound. Grippy as hell. But the trade off is they don't roll well.

I bought mine without test riding. No regrets. Compare geometry to your old bike for sizing and you shouldn't go far wrong.
