Evening all,
I'm on the lookout for a bike to go alongside my Merida FS but for easy riding where the FS will be overkill & energy sapping both on the battery & myself. I have seen the Cairn brave flatbar which looks good but pretty low spec & for me the dealbreaker is the alloy fork which I...
So I read the blurb & bought one whilst Halfords had them for just under £2k as it seems like value & just the sort of bike I want during the winter months when I can't be arsed to get absolutely filthy, cold & then spend an hour cleaning my FS ebike.
So the website says 15.5 kg approximately...
Mine are 35mm ID so not sure I can comment, but if your'e no big hitter then I would of thought 30mm would be perfect, not sure what size tyre you could fit in the front though if going to 29er.
Cheers.
Any updates on this, did you find the cause?
I just changed my chain at 600 odd miles & nearly .75 wear, I bought a KMC, hope it lasts longer but it was only £20.
Cheers.
But a lighter set of wheels & tyres would see it under 20kg, the only time I notice the weight of mine is when I have to lift it over a gate, it doesn't feel heavy to ride.
Cheers.
I'm quite vein & I'm happy to admit it, but I really like the look of the new E140 compared to my 'old' 120 900E, but the spec is frankly shit in comparison & its twice the money I paid for my bike (£3300).
So how do I/can I justify a new bike at twice the price for a lesser bike? Already...
An update, later than planned. Today saw me hit the 600 mile mark, TBH I thought it would be a lot more after this long but shit happens & it is what it is. So after todays 25 mile ride I thought I would check the tightness of all bolts, give it a good clean, which despite my instinct I did...
FWIW I run a 2.4 WT Maxxis on a 35mm ID rim & all is good in the world, measures up spot on.
Oh & I'm a born & bred Londoner living in the Home Counties so fuck you & the Scots ;)
I've snapped or cracked steel, alloy, carbon & ti frames but never had as much pain as when my carbon seat post snapped, I was very happy with the comfort levels until that point but now I think twice three times before using it, although I do have some EC90 bars on my rigid 29er.
Cheers.
