TQ HPR60-powered lightweight trail eMTB

The Yeti MTe 2026 is a carbon lightweight eMTB built around the TQ HPR60 motor — the segment's premium mid-power unit — with Yeti's Sixfinity six-bar suspension and 160/145 mm travel. Headline numbers: 60 Nm of torque, 350 W manufacturer-claimed peak, 580 Wh removable TQ HPR battery, a 64.0 degree head angle, 20.09 kg claimed and a £7,800 base. The community read is split: praise for the suspension and Yeti's signature ride feel, but real concerns about the TQ HPR60's outright power against Bosch SX rivals.
Drive system and range. The TQ HPR60 delivers 60 Nm of torque and a 350 W manufacturer-claimed peak at 1.924 kg motor weight — quiet, refined, but firmly in the mid-power tier. The 580 Wh battery is removable and is the largest pack in the TQ ecosystem, which materially improves real-world range over the older 360 Wh HPR50 builds. zirkel details the C2 90 spec: "44.3 lb, TQ HPR 60 motor, 580 Wh battery, Fox Performance 36 160 mm fork, Fox Performance Float X 145 mm shock". MeatBike notes the HPR60 category includes "Propain Sresh SL, Norco Sight VLT, Yeti MTe, Trek Fuel+" — the segment is growing. MTcycler directly compares: "Yeti MTe with TQ HPR 60 vs Specialized SL/AM with Bosch SX: TQ motor was markedly underpowered in back-to-back demo".
Geometry and handling. The MTe runs four sizes (SM, MD, LG, XL) with reach progressing from 430 mm (SM) through 460 mm (MD), 480 mm (LG) to 505 mm (XL). The 64.0 degree head angle is fixed across the range — properly modern and slacker than the Specialized Levo SL or Trek Fuel+ rivals. The 449 mm chainstay is shared and wheelbase grows from 1,213 mm to 1,303 mm. zirkel confirms the bike runs 29F/29R (non-mullet) with Schwalbe Magic Mary/Albert RADIAL tyres. The Sixfinity six-bar suspension is Yeti's signature and is well-praised for traction and small-bump compliance.
Build and value. Four trims are on file: C2 90 Transmission (base £7,800), T3, T4 and C2. The C2 90 build details from zirkel are useful: Eagle 90 Transmission, Maven Bronze brakes, DT Swiss AL wheels and Reverb AXS 150 dropper. zirkel notes the "Trek Fuel+ MX Gen 2 Fox Factory 36/Float X has better fork/shock suspension components" than the MTe Fox Performance equivalents, a direct comparison.
Community-verified strengths. First, geometry: 64.0 degree HA is properly modern for the mid-power category. Second, Sixfinity suspension is well-developed and well-praised. Third, the largest battery in the TQ ecosystem at 580 Wh genuinely transforms range over the older 360 Wh HPR50 platforms.
Caveats and known gripes. First, power deficit: MTcycler rates the HPR60 as "markedly underpowered" against the Bosch SX in a back-to-back demo, and again notes "Yeti MTe with HPR60 motor: underpowered compared to Bosch SX alternatives". Second, suspension tune: ArtMTB reports the "rear suspension setup prone to harshness when landing to flat and rear slide-out in stock race-oriented tune". Third, cadence character: ArtMTB notes the HPR60 motor "requires adjustment to use higher cadence pedaling over technical sections" — a recurring TQ characteristic. Fourth, the Fox Performance suspension spec at this price point is behind Trek's Fox Factory equivalent.
Verdict. The Yeti MTe 2026 suits buyers who specifically want the TQ HPR60 motor's quiet, refined character with the Sixfinity six-bar suspension and Yeti's signature carbon-frame ride feel, and who are comfortable with the mid-power tier rather than the higher-output Bosch SX class. Less suitable for buyers who chase outright power, those wanting Fox Factory suspension at this trim level, or who want a mullet-compatible chassis. Production status: current.
