Affordable Bafang M510 (95Nm) 630Wh long-travel mullet eMTB

The Vitus E-Mythique LT 2024 is the budget hero of the eMTB market: a long-travel aluminium enduro chassis with Bafang M510 motor and a 630 Wh battery at around £3300 retail. Headline numbers: 170 mm of fork travel, 160 mm at the rear, a properly slack 63.5 to 64 degree head angle, a 445 mm chainstay across all sizes and reach progression 434 mm on S through to 510 mm on XL. The community framing is unambiguous: @Rod B. calls it the "best budget eMTB of the year", and the Vitus has a deeply engaged owner community on the forum led by @Zimmerframe's extensive technical documentation.
Drive system and range. The Bafang M510 mid-drive is a value-tier full-power motor delivering 95 Nm of torque (per the platform spec) and is the trade for the bike's sharp pricing: Bafang has a less polished firmware-update story than Bosch or Shimano. @Zimmerframe's range test documents 32 km with 925 m of elevation and 16.9 km/h average using ~70 per cent battery in mixed modes, with the motor peaking around 280 W even in E mode. The 630 Wh battery is a confirmed BT F16.630.C (Bafang 17.5 Ah, 27.5 to 42 V scope, 3.6 to 3.9 kg with cover), removable. @Zimmerframe notes a 10-second long press wakes the battery from sleep, with LED colour-coding for state-of-charge.
Geometry and handling. A 63.5 to 64 degree head angle is properly slack and modern enduro, in line with mainstream rivals. Reach progression is dual-position per nominal size (S at 434 or 438 mm with a 63.5/64 degree HA, M at 456 mm, L at 480 or 483 mm, XL at 510 mm). The 445 mm chainstay is held constant across all sizes and configurations. Wheelbase 1224 to 1307 mm. With 170 mm of fork and 160 mm of rear travel, the E-Mythique LT is unambiguously a long-travel enduro chassis, not a quick-handling trail bike.
Build and value. Vitus publishes the E-Mythique LT at approximately £3300 retail for the spec on file. At this price you get the Bafang M510 motor, a 630 Wh removable battery, a 170/160 mm aluminium Horst Link chassis and a properly slack head angle. @Zimmerframe documents replacing the temporary stock 27.5 fork with a 170 mm Fox 38 29er to lift the front end ~5 cm and reports the Fox 38 "perfect" on the chassis after a serious test ride. The frame ships with respectable kit at this entry tier and is a popular upgrade platform.
Community-verified strengths. Three things owners praise. Value-led pricing: at £3300 with full-power motor, 630 Wh battery and 170/160 mm of travel, the E-Mythique LT undercuts everything else in the segment. The chassis is a willing upgrade platform: @Zimmerframe demonstrates the bike responds well to Fox 38 fork upgrades and is engineered to accept enduro-grade kit. And @CarolinaCrawler highlights a unique attribute: removing the 2.6 kg+ battery makes the bike a nice lightweight shuttle option for analogue or motor-off use.
Caveats and known gripes. Three honest flags. The Bafang M510 motor has documented durability issues. @RonanGee reports the torque sensor has a weak point where the black electronic section snaps free from the metal rib, allowing significant shaft rotation. @Mikefiver flags the main drive-side seal is fitted "the wrong way round" with the cavity on the outside and is the primary water-ingress point. @CarolinaCrawler needed a replacement PCB (controller board) to fix a power-on issue. @Zimmerframe documents bypassing the power button by shorting pins on the connector for troubleshooting, suggesting button reliability is also a concern. Plus warranty service depth varies by retailer (Chain Reaction Cycles is the primary distributor in the UK and EU).
Verdict. The Vitus E-Mythique LT 2024 is for the value-driven rider who wants a properly modern 170/160 mm aluminium enduro eMTB with a Bafang M510 motor and a 630 Wh battery at around £3300 retail, and is happy to live with the Bafang's known durability quirks, possible torque-sensor issues and value-tier dealer support. If you want a more refined motor ecosystem or stronger warranty backstop, look at a Canyon Torque:ON or Cube Stereo Hybrid 160. Production status is current.
