All Mountain

The Rotwild R.EX 900 2026 is a German-built carbon enduro eMTB and Rotwild's range-first Avinox flagship. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 160mm rear (frame notes describe 160 front / 150 rear, indicative of conservative travel positioning), DJI Avinox M1 at 105Nm and a 1000W peak with a 2.52kg motor mass, a removable 864Wh battery, 22.4kg claimed, 64.0 degree head angle and reach 462 to 512mm across M, L and XL. Trim ladder: base at GBP 11,999 and ULTRA at EUR 12,490 (22.1kg). With no curated community quotes on file yet, this verdict draws on the gold spec and the well-established DJI Avinox platform behaviour. Rotwild has a long heritage in premium German eMTB engineering with a small but devoted following.
Drive system and range. The DJI Avinox M1 is the most powerful production motor in its tier in 2025: 105Nm of torque, 1000W peak and a 2.52kg motor mass. Avinox can sustain peak torque longer than rival full-power motors thanks to large gearbox surface area and aggressive thermal mapping. Rotwild has fitted a notably large 864Wh battery: bigger than the standard Avinox FP800: making the R.EX 900 a deliberate range-first build. The battery is removable. Real-world range with 864Wh on a 160/170mm rig is genuinely capable of 2,000m+ of vertical in a single charge for typical riders, well into all-day backcountry territory. Avinox's app ecosystem, anti-theft alarm, 4G/GPS and over-the-air firmware updates come built in.
Geometry and handling. 64.0 degrees up front is bang on the modern enduro norm. Reach steps cleanly: 462 (M), 487 (L), 512 (XL). Chainstays are a uniform 439mm and wheelbase tops out at 1303mm on XL. The polydynamic carbon frame uses mid-high pivot kinematics with a mullet wheel concept (29 front, 27.5 rear), modular dropouts and an Acros RW EXC angle-adjustable headset: all genuine engineering depth from Rotwild. Three sizes is on the conservative side; riders under 1.70m or over 1.95m should fit-check.
Build and value. Two trims. Base (GBP 11,999, 22.4kg) gets a FOX 36 Float Performance fork (160mm, GRIP damper), FOX Float X Performance shock (185x55mm), MAGURA MT5 HC-W four-piston brakes and Shimano XT M8100 1x12 mechanical. ULTRA (EUR 12,490, 22.1kg) is the higher-tier build. Standout: 864Wh removable battery on a 22.4kg carbon enduro rig is class-leading for range-per-weight. Questionable: GBP 11,999 base pricing puts it firmly in YT Decoy Carbon Pro and Specialized Kenevo Pro territory, where carbon AXS Transmission and Maven brakes are standard.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Premium pricing. GBP 11,999 base is a serious ask: rivals with similar Avinox M1 power and 800Wh batteries from Amflow, Crussis or Olympia start meaningfully cheaper.
- Three sizes only. M (462mm reach), L (487mm) and XL (512mm) only: no S, riders under 1.70m should look elsewhere.
- Mechanical drivetrain at the base trim. Shimano XT M8100 mechanical on a sub-23kg Avinox carbon enduro flagship is conservative; AXS Transmission is standard on most competitors at this price.
- No curated community signal yet. The R.EX 900 has no owner reporting on the eMTB Forums community at the point of writing; long-term motor and frame reliability data is yet to mature.
- Limited UK dealer network. Rotwild is well-distributed in Germany and Austria but thinner elsewhere; warranty routing requires planning.
- Mullet only. Wheel configuration is fixed at 29 front, 27.5 rear; full 29in or full 27.5in are not options out of the box.
Verdict. The R.EX 900 is the range king of the Avinox carbon enduro segment in 2026, with proper 170/160mm travel, an 864Wh removable battery, 22.4kg system weight and Rotwild's polydynamic carbon engineering. It suits riders who prioritise range and German-engineering pedigree, who fit M, L or XL, and who can support Rotwild's central European service network. Buyers chasing AXS Transmission and Maven brakes at the base trim, smaller sizes or a more cost-effective entry into Avinox M1 power should look at Crussis E-Full 12, Amflow PL Carbon or Commencal Meta Power. Production status: current.
