Bosch CX Gen 5 full-power 29er trail eMTB

The Radon Render 2025 is a value-driven German direct-to-consumer carbon all-mountain eMTB built around the latest Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor and an 800 Wh PowerTube battery. Headline numbers: 160 mm of fork travel, 150 mm at the rear, 24.5 kg claimed on the 10.0 trim, 120 Nm of peak CX Gen 5 torque, a 65.1 degree head angle and reach progressing 436 mm on M, 456 mm on L and 473 mm on XL. The community framing is positioning-aware: @Ordinary Human Male categorises the Render alongside the Trek Rail and Merida eOne-Sixty 700 as trail-bike-leaning rather than enduro-aggressive, which is borne out by the 65.1 degree head angle.
Drive system and range. Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 delivers 120 Nm of peak torque, 250 W nominal, a manufacturer-claimed 750 W peak and a 2.8 kg motor weight. This is the latest and most refined CX, with the smoothest 100 to 120 Nm power ramp and the deepest service network. The Bosch PowerTube 800 Wh battery is removable. Real-world range at 800 Wh on Gen 5 in all-mountain riding typically lands 45 to 65 miles in mixed assist on rolling terrain, putting the Render in genuine long-day territory. The 24.5 kg claimed weight on the 10.0 trim is competitive for the travel and battery, helped by Bosch's lighter Gen 5 motor housing.
Geometry and handling. A 65.1 degree head angle is squarely trail-leaning rather than enduro-aggressive, slacker than typical 66 degree trail bikes but steeper than the 64 to 64.5 degree enduro norm. Reach steps clean 436 mm on M, 456 mm on L and 473 mm on XL, all with a fixed 459 mm chainstay. Wheelbase progression 1220 mm to 1267 mm is on the moderate side for a 160 mm-travel chassis. The fixed CS makes the back end consistent across sizes but reads short on the XL. With 160 mm of fork and 150 mm at the rear, this is a fast-handling all-mountain machine rather than a heavy-hitter, suited to rolling terrain rather than the steepest mountain.
Build and value. Two trims, both impressively well-specced for the money. The 10.0 at £5299 brings a FOX 36 Factory FIT GRIP X E-Tuned Boost fork with Kashima, Float X Factory Kashima shock, Shimano XT BR-M8220 four-piston brakes and a Shimano XT Di2 12-speed transmission. The 11.0 at £7199 steps to RockShox Lyrik Ultimate with Charger 3.2 RC2 fork, Super Deluxe Ultimate Linear XL air shock, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes and a SRAM XO Eagle AXS Transmission with wireless shifting. At £5299 with Fox Factory Kashima and full XT Di2, the 10.0 is one of the best-value spec sheets in the segment. @Tepi reports the prior 2025 Render 9.0 with Fox front and rear suspension responds well to a reduced phaser setting, improving initial responsiveness.
Community-verified strengths. Three things owners praise. The value-led direct-to-consumer pricing: at £5299 with Fox Factory and XT Di2 the 10.0 undercuts established brands at the same spec level. @Tepi reports a smooth warranty experience receiving a new XT derailleur shifter under warranty, suggesting Radon's support process works as expected. And @Alain78 reports a Render 10.0 HD owner experience showing minor creaks (resolved with grease and torquing) rather than major mechanical issues.
Caveats and known gripes. Three honest flags. The 65.1 degree head angle is steeper than most modern all-mountain rivals and will feel less composed in the steepest terrain. @Ordinary Human Male directly compares the Render's geometry as flatter-trail-oriented compared to a Reign E+. The fixed 459 mm chainstay across S to XL is a missed-trick for taller riders. And Radon's dealer footprint outside Germany is thin: most UK and EU buyers will be receiving the bike shipped direct, with service relying on independent or local shop relationships rather than a brand network. @Tepi also flags the prior Render 9.0 stock Maxxis rear tyre wears quickly: factor in tyre upgrades.
Verdict. The Radon Render 2025 is for the value-driven rider who wants a properly-specced carbon all-mountain eMTB with the latest Bosch CX Gen 5 motor, an 800 Wh battery and Fox Factory Kashima or full SRAM AXS Transmission at sharp direct-to-consumer prices. If you want the slackest enduro geometry or strong dealer-network support, look at a Canyon Torque:ON, Cannondale Moterra LT or Trek Rail. Production status is current.
