EMTB Forums verdict

The Pole Voima 2023 was the Finnish brand's flagship 190 mm-travel CNC-machined aluminium eMTB, built around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 motor (85 Nm torque) and a 750 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Travel is properly aggressive at 190 mm front (or 200 mm dual-crown option) and 190 mm rear on a seamless CNC-machined and bonded 7075-T6 aluminium chassis with Pole's Sensei dual-link suspension. Three trims — Downduro Complete at £6,658 (25.82 kg), Enduro Complete at €6,443 (25.5 kg), and Trail Complete. Sixteen size/configuration combinations based on rider height (155-200 cm), reach 427-519 mm, head angle 62.6 to 64.0 degrees (size-dependent), chainstays 455 mm flat. The community read in one line: a genuinely transformative super-enduro/downduro Finnish eMTB with bonded CNC-machined alloy construction unlike anything else on the market, now discontinued, with documented frame failure concerns.

Drive system and range. The Bosch CX Gen 4 was the proven full-power Bosch motor — 85 Nm torque, 750 Wh PowerTube battery, free OTA firmware updates and the deepest dealer network in eMTB. Real-world range will sit in the 50 to 70 km territory in mixed terrain on Trail/eMTB mode. @D3xt3rMTB's Voima K4 ships with the 750 Wh battery plus an additional 500 Wh battery for 1,250 Wh combined — properly all-day shuttle capability.

Geometry and handling. Properly Pole — extreme size range and extreme geometry. The 16 size/configuration combinations are based on rider height intervals (e.g. 155-165 cm, 166-176 cm, 177-187 cm, 188-200 cm). Reach progresses from 427 mm (smallest) to 519 mm (largest). Head angles 62.6 to 64.0 degrees depending on size and flip-chip position — properly slack DH-adjacent territory. Chainstays held at 455 mm flat. The Sensei dual-link suspension is Pole's signature kinematic. The wheelbase data in GOLD shows 985-1082 mm which appears truncated (real-world wheelbases on a 190 mm travel platform with 425-520 mm reach are typically 1200-1400 mm) — buyers should check Pole's published geometry tables directly.

Build and value. Three trims well-spaced. Downduro Complete at £6,658 (25.82 kg) gets RockShox ZEB Select single-crown fork at 200 mm travel (190 mm option), RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock, SRAM Code R / Code RSC 4-piston brakes. Enduro Complete at €6,443 (25.5 kg) steps to single-crown 190 mm front. Trail Complete is the entry. @Zimmerframe documents Voima K2 specs: Bosch CX with 750 Wh PowerTube, RockShox Zeb Select 190 mm fork, Maxxis Assegai 2.5 front and DHR II 2.4 rear with DD 3C MaxxGrip casings — strong stock build for the discontinued price point.

Community-verified strengths.

  • @slickrock: "this bike is transformative and stakes out its own ground in the long-travel e-bike space, quite apart from the current lot of enduro EMTBs."
  • @Joe Moto: "The Voima has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is an excellent bicycle that is very forgiving but extreme fast. There are so many design subtleties that seem odd when visually examining the bicycle, but when riding the bike, those oddities disappear from thought and make light speed obtainable."
  • @High Rock Ruti: "Shimano Di2 derailleur on Pole Voima has required zero adjustment over 2500+ miles, far better reliability than SRAM AXS." Drivetrain durability is strong.

Caveats and known gripes.

  • Production status: discontinued. New buyers will be looking at used examples only.
  • @Plummet documents critical frame repair issues: "Welding a cracked Pole Voima swingarm is not feasible — welding destroys heat treatment, requiring normalizing and re-heat-treating which would damage bonding glue. The original stress riser failure point would just fail again." Cracked Voima swingarms are not economically repairable.
  • @Plummet notes a custom Santa Cruz S180 build "is faster than Pole Voima on Strava segments — user beat all previous Voima times." The Voima is fast but not unbeatable.
  • 25.8 kg claimed weight is heavy by 2026 standards, even for 190 mm travel.
  • @NickyTee documented "Fox-49-arch-hits-the-Voima-headtube problem" — fitting dual-crown forks requires careful clearance management with reach-adjust headsets.
  • Pole is a small Finnish brand. Service and warranty support outside Finland and the UK is limited.

Verdict. The Pole Voima 2023 was one of the most genuinely innovative eMTBs of its era — CNC-machined bonded aluminium, 190 mm travel, Sensei dual-link suspension and Pole's distinctive geometry philosophy. As a current new purchase it's discontinued. Used examples in good condition (verify the swingarm and bonding are crack-free) suit super-enduro/downduro riders who want a properly-considered Finnish alloy chassis at strong used pricing, who appreciate Pole's geometry approach, and who have local UK or Finland support access. Look at the Pole Voima Stomski, Santa Cruz Vala/V10c or Norco Range VLT for current new purchases at similar travel categories. Production status: discontinued.
