Affordable Bosch CX-powered 160/150 mullet all-mountain eMTB

The Norco Sight VLT 2026 is the aluminium-framed sibling of Norco's all-mountain platform, built around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor and an 800 Wh battery. Headline numbers: 160 mm of fork travel, 150 mm at the rear, 120 Nm of peak torque, a 65 degree head angle and reach progression across Norco's Size-by-Number (SBN) system from S1 (420 mm) to S5 (520 mm) with chainstays growing 432 mm to 444 mm proportionally. The community framing is positive: the 2025 carbon Sight VLT CX has earned strong owner reports for descent capability and motor refinement, and the 2026 alloy version inherits the same chassis brief.
Drive system and range. Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 brings 120 Nm of peak torque, 250 W nominal and a 750 W manufacturer-claimed peak from a 2.8 kg unit. The 800 Wh battery is confirmed for the platform: @Martinizer verified the 800 Wh spec directly with Norco. Real-world range data from the carbon Sight VLT CX is impressive: @Spudley describes the range as "insane", reporting 3 hours of steep winch-and-plummet riding plus bike park laps on a single charge. @jimsantos regularly does 5,000 to 6,000 ft vertical days and considers the big battery essential.
Geometry and handling. A 65 degree head angle is moderate-trail by 2026 standards, slacker than typical 66 degree all-mountain norms but not as aggressive as a 63.5 degree enduro chassis. Reach steps clean 420 mm to 445 mm to 470 mm to 495 mm to 520 mm across S1 to S5. The size-tuned chainstay is the standout: 432 mm on S1 and S2, 436 mm on S3, 440 mm on S4 and 444 mm on S5. This Size-by-Number progression keeps the back end balanced across the size range and is a genuine win for both shorter and taller riders. @Hob Nob reports the S4 (819 mm wheelbase) sits at the top of comfort for a 185 cm rider, which is useful sizing guidance.
Build and value. Norco publishes the 2026 Sight VLT as a single base trim with the alloy frame, Bosch CX Gen 5 motor and 800 Wh battery. The 2025 CX-equipped Sight VLT range typically retails around £6500 to £8000 depending on trim, and the alloy 2026 version sits at the value end of that ladder. Riders should expect kit consistent with the carbon Sight VLT CX cousin but in alloy: meaningful weight saving (~500 g) is available via the carbon upgrade if you want the same chassis at lower weight.
Community-verified strengths. Three things owners praise. Descent capability: @cobra22 describes the chassis as "awesome", "handles great", and notes the high-pivot suspension is "noticeably plush" on sharp-edge bumps. Long-term reliability of prior Sight VLT generations: @pamartia reports a 2020 Sight VLT 29 A1 reaching 2000 miles over 13 months with motor and battery "flawless". And the size-tuned chassis and BB clearance: @Spudley reports "low BB with few pedal strikes" on the size 4.
Caveats and known gripes. Three honest flags. @Bogdan_CH documents a stop-ride safety notice issued for the 2025 Sight VLT CX in April 2025, with @cobra22 reporting that early carbon units required seatstay replacement (replaced with raw carbon, functionally identical). The 2026 alloy version should not be affected, but the issue is worth knowing. @Emailsucks98 reports error codes during wet riding on a 2019 Sight VLT (different motor, but a wet-conditions sensitivity flag worth noting). And weight is class-typical for the travel: @Blownoutrides documents a heavily-upgraded carbon Sight VLT at 54.7 lbs (24.8 kg), so the alloy 2026 will sit at the upper end of the 2026 weight band.
Verdict. The Norco Sight VLT 2026 alloy version is for the rider who wants Norco's size-tuned chainstay geometry, the latest Bosch CX Gen 5 motor and the proven 800 Wh battery in an alloy chassis at value pricing. If you want lighter weight or the absolute slackest enduro geometry, look up the family at the carbon Sight VLT CX or the longer-travel Range VLT. Production status is current.
