Carbon mullet super-enduro eMTB with Bosch Performance Line SX, 170mm front / 165mm rear travel and Mondraker Forward Geometry.

The Mondraker Dune 2025 is a carbon mullet super-enduro eMTB built around the Bosch Performance Line SX motor in lightweight enduro form. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 165mm rear, Bosch SX at 55Nm and 600W peak with a 2.0kg motor, a removable 400Wh CompactTube battery, 20.4kg claimed, 64.0 to 64.5 degree head angle and reach 435 to 510mm across S, M, L and four XL variants. Trim ladder runs base/R at GBP 5,999, RR at GBP 8,299 and XR at GBP 10,199. Community read: @Weeksy demo-rode the XR and called it "so playful and fun", clocking 40km of vertical with 27% battery remaining in eco/off modes.
Drive system and range. The Bosch Performance Line SX is the lightweight half of Bosch's eMTB range: 55Nm of torque, 600W peak and a 2.0kg motor mass. It rewards higher cadence (100 to 130rpm) and gives natural, lively power delivery rather than the locomotive shove of CX. The 400Wh CompactTube battery is removable. A Bosch 250Wh range extender is available, taking the package to 650Wh effective for big-day rides. @Weeksy's 40km vertical with 27% remaining is testament to how far the 400Wh stretches when discipline is applied. Bosch's Flow app, Kiox 300 display, OTA firmware updates and ABS-ready hardware are baked in.
Geometry and handling. 64.0 degrees on the XL low position, 64.5 across the rest, with Mondraker's signature Forward Geometry: long reach (485mm on L, 510mm on XL) paired with very short 438mm chainstays. Wheelbase tops out at 1309mm on the XL low. Mullet wheel setup sharpens cornering on tight singletrack. The Zero Suspension System's updated linkage delivers a progressive, supportive rear that pairs well with the Öhlins coil shock on the XR trim.
Build and value. Four trims with meaningful jumps. Base/R (GBP 5,999, 20.4kg): Fox 38 Float 3P Performance, Fox Float X Performance EVOL, SRAM DB8 Stealth four-piston, SRAM GX/NX mechanical mix. RR (GBP 8,299, 19.6kg): Öhlins RXF 38 M.2 with TTX18 cartridge, Öhlins TTX Air, SRAM Code Bronze, SRAM GX AXS T-Type wireless. XR (GBP 10,199, 19.8kg): Öhlins RXF 38 M.2 at 180mm, Öhlins TTX22M.2 coil, SRAM Code Ultimate, SRAM X0 AXS T-Type. Standout: 19.6 to 20.4kg system weight on a 170/165mm super-enduro is properly impressive. Questionable: Öhlins suspension on the higher trims is excellent but service intervals and cost are steeper than mainstream RockShox or Fox.
Community-verified strengths.
- Genuinely playful. @Weeksy on the XR: "so playful and fun" after a 40km demo with battery to spare.
- Light for the travel. A comparison thread places the Dune alongside the Kenevo SL in the enduro-SL bracket.
- Frame design language. @Fangs2k notes the Dune shares its frame shape and Bosch SX motor brief with the Unno Mith: a compliment given Unno's premium positioning.
- Two motor options. @nickf notes Mondraker offers Dune (and the smaller Neat SL) with both Bosch SX and TQ HPR50: buyers can match motor character to their preference.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Bosch SX is not Bosch CX. 55Nm and a high-cadence character will frustrate riders cross-shopping from a 120Nm Gen 5; expect to spin, not stomp.
- 400Wh limits big-day range. The 250Wh extender is essentially required for serious alpine outings.
- Older Dune shock maintenance. An older Dune owner reports "the amount of maintenance needed for that shock was silly". Confirm service intervals and warranty support for the Öhlins units at point of sale.
- Aggressive Forward Geometry. 510mm reach on XL with a 438mm rear is a love-or-hate prescription; riders with prior Mondraker time will know what to expect, but riders new to the brand should test-ride.
- Big size variant overlap. Four "XL" variants in gold sizing is unusual; confirm reach, wheelbase and chainstay before order.
Verdict. The 2025 Dune is one of the most credible super-enduro lightweights on sale, with proper 170/165mm travel, sub-21kg system weight, Mondraker's signature Forward Geometry and a trim ladder that climbs to Öhlins-coil-XO1-AXS territory. It suits riders who want enduro travel and big-bike geometry but in an SL weight envelope, and who can live with Bosch SX's high-cadence power character. Buyers chasing full-power torque, 600Wh-plus battery, or non-Forward Geometry should look at the Mondraker Crafty CR or full-power rivals from Specialized and Trek. Production status: current.
