Women's trail eMTB, Giant SyncDrive Pro 85Nm, 800Wh

The Liv Embolden E+ Pro 2025 is Liv's women-specific full-suspension trail eMTB, built on an aluminium frame with the Giant SyncDrive Sport motor (75 Nm, 250 W rated, 3.48 kg) and a single-pivot rear suspension. Travel is 140 mm front and 125 mm rear, head angle 66.0°, claimed weight 23.7 kg, and UK base trim opens at £4,499. Liv is Giant's dedicated women's brand and the Embolden is sized and shaped specifically for shorter riders — only M and L sizes are offered in this trim, with smaller XS and S variants typically available in lower-spec Embolden E+ 1 and E+ 2 models. The community verdict from real ownership is positive on capability for the price: @Weeksy reports completing a "4+ hour epic ride in the Peaks on 625 Wh Liv Embolden" — meaningful real-world testimony.
Drive system and range. The Giant SyncDrive Sport is the entry-level motor in Giant's lineup, sharing Yamaha-derived internals with the more powerful Pro2 unit. It produces 75 Nm of torque, which is enough for trail and bridleway use but mid-pack against the latest Bosch CX Gen 5 (120 Nm) and Avinox motors. Battery details vary by spec — the Embolden E+ family typically runs the 625 Wh EnergyPak Smart, with the higher-spec Pro variant accepting larger packs. Expect 80-100 km of mixed-terrain riding on a single charge depending on assist mode. The motor uses RideControl Ergo display and Giant's Sync app for ride data, mode customisation and firmware updates.
Geometry and handling. The Embolden E+ Pro runs a 66.0° head angle, which is a sensible all-rounder figure between cross-country and modern trail. Reach is 437 mm in M and 455 mm in L, fitting riders typically 5'4" to 5'10". Chainstay length is fixed at 442 mm, balanced for the bike's intent. @JWDubois highlights an important Liv-specific sizing detail: smaller frames (XS) in the wider Embolden line use 27.5in wheels rather than the 29in wheels on S and above, giving shorter riders meaningful standover clearance. Liv's frame geometry across the Embolden line is genuinely tuned for female biomechanics rather than just being a smaller version of the men's Giant Stance equivalent.
Build and value. The Pro trim at £4,499 sits at the top of the Embolden E+ ladder. Below it: the regular E+ 1 (around £3,500-3,800 historically) with a smaller display and slightly different motor tuning, and the E+ 2 which has often been heavily discounted — @rider spotted the Embolden E+ 2 at "£2,449 plus hopefully another 10% off for Blue Light card makes it £2,204." The Pro adds proper trail components: Fox Float performance-grade fork, dropper post, hydraulic disc brakes and Shimano Deore/SLX-class drivetrain. The single-pivot rear is functional but less sophisticated than Giant's Maestro layout on the Stance E+ and Trance E+ ranges.
Community-verified strengths. @Weeksy demonstrated the bike's day-trip capability with a 4+ hour Peak District ride on the 625 Wh variant. @rider reports a positive purchase of the Embolden E+ 1 Pro alongside a Stance E+ 1 Pro: "we switched to the Liv for her partly for the colour" — Liv's bike aesthetics and colour ways have a genuine following. @JWDubois recommends the XS for riders around 5'4" who would otherwise be dwarfed by 29in wheels — that wheel-size flexibility across the Embolden line matters.
Caveats and known gripes. Component spec at this price point includes Shimano Deore-class drivetrain and budget brakes — @rider notes their experience at Hopton was "slightly marred by the lack of gears, brakes, suspension, dropper on the Embolden". Plan to upgrade brakes and tyres for serious technical use. With only M and L sizes in the Pro spec, shorter riders need to move down the trim ladder to the E+ 1 to get the XS/S frame sizes. The Giant SyncDrive motor's "Event codes" issue (well-documented on the Trance and Fathom forums) also applies here. 23.7 kg is on the heavier side for the category.
Verdict. The Embolden E+ Pro is for the female rider who wants a properly-sized full-suspension trail eMTB with Giant's dealer network and a sensible 140/125 mm travel ratio at sub-£4,500. It is not for hard-charging descenders who need bigger suspension and better brakes, riders chasing the latest motor parity, or anyone outside the M/L sizing window in this trim. Production status is current and the bike is widely stocked through Liv-specific and Giant dealers.
