Carbon enduro eMTB with Bosch Performance CX Smart System motor

The KTM Macina Prowler 2024 is the Austrian brand's full-power mullet enduro eMTB, a carbon 4-bar chassis built around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 motor and a 750 Wh PowerTube battery. Headline numbers: 180 mm fork, 170 mm rear travel, Bosch CX Gen 4 at 85 Nm and 600 W peak, the bigger 750 Wh Bosch SmartSystem pack, a 64.1 degree head angle, reach 432 to 467 mm across three sizes (M, L, XL), with a 29 inch front and 27.5 PLUS rear mullet setup. The community verdict is that the Macina Prowler is one of the more aggressive park-leaning Bosch enduros available, but @RickBullotta's direct comparison flags it as the most nose-heavy of the major eMTBs he has owned (KTM Macina, Levo, Rise, Amflow), which is the standout handling characteristic to know about.
Drive system and range. The Bosch CX Gen 4 with the SmartSystem ecosystem delivers 85 Nm and 600 W peak, controlled via the Kiox or LED Remote. This is the previous generation Bosch unit (Gen 5 with PU2.0 now offers 120 Nm), so the Prowler 2024 sits one step behind the latest curve in absolute power, but Gen 4 is mature, refined and well-supported by Bosch dealers globally. The 750 Wh PowerTube is removable, and one community quote notes friends with a 2022 Macina Prowler Master 750 SmartSystem reporting about 25 km more range than equivalent 625 Wh bikes. Realistic range is 35 to 45 miles in mixed terrain.
Geometry and handling. The 64.1 degree head angle is bang on category-norm for a 180/170 mm full-power enduro. Reach progresses 432, 450 and 467 mm across M to XL with a fixed 442 mm chainstay. The reach numbers are on the conservative side compared to current 2025/2026 enduros, which means taller riders may find the XL feels short by modern standards. The mullet setup (29 front, 27.5 PLUS rear) preserves a balanced rear-centre and adds tail-flick agility on tight enduro lines. The nose-heaviness @RickBullotta describes is partly a Bosch CX Gen 4 trait (heavy motor at the bottom bracket combined with a front-of-bike battery) and partly the geometry, requiring some technique adaptation off jumps and drops.
Build and value. The Macina Prowler is offered in two named build tiers (Elite and Master, the latter named "Dimmix Master" in some markets). The Elite uses a RockShox Domain RC 180 mm fork, Shimano M4100/MT420 4-piston brakes and a Deore drivetrain. The Master steps up to Fox 38 Float Rhythm/Factory 180 mm fork, Shimano Saint M820 4-piston brakes with 203 mm front rotors, and Shimano XT M8100. Both share the Fox Float X Performance 250x75 rear shock. Standout in the Master build is the Saint brake spec, which is bike-park grade. Questionable side is the stem-integrated cable system on the Master, which @Gregbase notes requires a specific compatible stem similar to Trek's Knock Block.
Community-verified strengths. The 750 Wh Bosch SmartSystem battery is a real differentiator versus rival 625 Wh setups, with one community quote measuring 25 km of additional range. The mullet 29/27.5 PLUS setup delivers nimble tail-end behaviour on tight enduro lines. The Master trim's Saint brake spec is properly aggressive for park use.
Caveats and known gripes. Nose-heavy weight balance is the consistent flag. @RickBullotta rates the Macina as the most nose-heavy of his progression (Macina then Pivot Shuttle then Orbea Rise then Levo Gen 3 then Amflow PL Pro), and separately notes he "almost killed myself on a big drop on my first eMTB (KTM Macina) because it was soooo nose heavy". The Bosch Gen 4 motor is one generation behind current Gen 5 (120 Nm) so absolute power is not class-leading. The proprietary stem on the Master adds friction for cockpit swaps. Reach numbers (432 to 467 mm) are short by 2025 standards, so taller riders should size carefully.
Verdict. The Macina Prowler 2024 is in current production and represents solid value for a Bosch SmartSystem 750 Wh full-power enduro on a carbon chassis with proven 4-bar kinematics. Buy it if you want the bigger 750 Wh Bosch pack, the SmartSystem ecosystem and a 180/170 mm park-leaning chassis backed by KTM's strong European dealer network. Look elsewhere if you want the latest Bosch CX Gen 5 motor (120 Nm post-PU2.0), modern long-reach geometry past 480 mm in XL, or a lighter, more balanced front-end feel. The Bosch Gen 4 platform will not get the OTA bump to Gen 5 figures, so anyone wanting maximum current torque should look at a Gen 5 chassis.
