Carbon mullet enduro eMTB with Bosch Performance CX Gen5 (85Nm) and 800Wh PowerTube

The Haibike HYBE CF 9 2026 is the value entry point to Haibike's new HYBE enduro platform, sharing the same carbon chassis as the higher-trim CF 11. It runs 170 mm of fork travel and 160 mm rear on a Bosch Performance Line CX-R race-derivative drive with an 800 Wh battery. Headline numbers: 85 Nm of torque, 600 W peak, a 64.5 degree head angle and a 421 to 511 mm reach range across four sizes. £6,549 for the single base trim. Community verdict: a properly capable enduro carbon chassis with the latest Bosch CX-R motor at a price meaningfully below the equivalent Specialized Kenevo or Cube Stereo Hybrid 170.
Drive system and range. The Bosch CX-R is a race-tuned Gen 5 derivative aimed at lightweight and enduro applications. It delivers 85 Nm of torque and 600 W of peak power, with a sharper, more responsive feel at the top of the assist band than the standard CX. The motor weighs 2.75 kg. Paired with the 800 Wh integrated battery, the HYBE CF 9 has all-day range potential, with mixed-terrain enduro use comfortably reaching 60 to 90 km depending on assist discipline and rider weight. Bosch Smart System support through the Bosch Flow app means firmware refinements, including PU2.0-style power updates, push through to the bike over time.
Geometry and handling. A 64.5 degree head angle is bang on the enduro norm, neither extreme nor conservative. Reach grows from 421 mm in size S to 511 mm in XL, a useful 90 mm spread that suits short and tall riders alike. The 450 mm chainstay is identical across all sizes, which keeps the rear end agile on size M and L but means XL riders may want a longer rear centre for proportional balance. Wheelbases span 1211 to 1313 mm. 29-inch wheels across the range, with no published mullet option from Haibike for this trim.
Build and value. One trim, £6,549. As the entry to the HYBE CF line the CF 9 prioritises chassis and motor over headline component upgrades: buyers get the carbon frame, 800 Wh battery and CX-R motor in a package that undercuts most carbon enduro rivals. The standout strength is the shared chassis with the CF 11 flagship: the HYBE CF 9 buyer gets the same suspension layout, geometry and electronics for several thousand pounds less. The questionable note is the modest component spec at this trim level: serious enduro riders should expect to upgrade brakes, dropper and possibly fork over time.
Caveats and known gripes. The 800 Wh battery is on the larger side of the trail/enduro market, but specifics on whether it is removable have not been published in Haibike's launch materials. Haibike UK dealer reach is more limited than the bigger German brands like Cube and Canyon, which can complicate warranty support for British buyers. The single-trim ladder gives no entry-level price point below £6,549, so anyone wanting a HYBE alloy alternative will need to look at the CORE or AllMtn line instead. And as a 2026-launch platform, long-term reliability data is not yet available from the community.
Verdict. The HYBE CF 9 2026 suits the enduro rider who wants a current Bosch CX-R carbon chassis with serious battery capacity at a sharper price than the equivalent Specialized, Cube or Canyon flagship. Riders chasing high-end suspension, brakes and finish from the factory should consider the HYBE CF 11; riders wanting boutique brands or wider dealer reach should look elsewhere. Production status: current.
