Carbon enduro eMTB with SyncDrive Pro 3 motor (90Nm/800W) and 560Wh battery

The Giant Reign Advanced E+ 2026 is the all-new carbon version of Giant's flagship enduro eMTB, rebuilt around the third-generation Giant SyncDrive Pro motor (85 Nm torque, 250 W rated, 500 W manufacturer-claimed peak, 2.75 kg). Travel is 180 mm front and 170 mm rear on a carbon Maestro suspension chassis with a 560 Wh removable Giant EnergyPak Smart battery. Three trims from £6,499 to £9,999, head angle 62.6 to 64.0 degrees depending on size and flip-chip position, reach 426 to 515 mm across the unusually generous 26-position size/configuration matrix. Claimed weight 22.7 kg. The community read in one line: a sharply-priced carbon enduro from a brand with a deep dealer network, undercutting the Bosch CX competition while running Giant's own in-house motor ecosystem.
Drive system and range. The SyncDrive Pro is Giant's third-generation in-house motor, manufactured for Giant by Yamaha. 85 Nm torque puts it at the lower end of the full-power category by 2026 standards (DJI Avinox M2S is 150 Nm, Bosch CX Gen 5 is 120 Nm), but Giant has focused on smoothness, low motor noise and integration with the EnergyPak Smart battery rather than chasing headline torque. The 560 Wh battery is on the small side — most rivals run 720 to 800 Wh — and is removable via a downtube hatch for off-bike charging. Real-world range will sit in the 35 to 50 km territory in mixed terrain on Trail/Boost mode, with bigger 800 Wh packs available as an upgrade on some trims.
Geometry and handling. The 26-position size/configuration matrix is the standout feature here. Giant offer multiple flip-chip positions per frame size, so a Medium can be configured Low (446 mm reach, 62.6 degree head angle), Mid (450 mm / 63.0 degrees) or High (456 mm / 63.1 degrees), with the chainstay shifting between 442, 443 and 450 mm. Reach ranges from 426 mm (SM Low) to 515 mm (XL), wheelbase from 1226 to 1324 mm. Head angles are properly slack for enduro use, especially in Low position. The Maestro suspension layout is one of the best-developed in the industry.
Build and value. Three trims, well-spaced. The base trim at £6,499 (22.7 kg) is the value sweet spot — sub-23 kg carbon enduro at this price is genuinely competitive. Trim 1 at £7,999 (23.4 kg) and trim 0 at £9,999 (22.3 kg) move up the suspension and drivetrain ladder. Expect RockShox or Fox suspension at 180 mm front, four-piston brakes and SRAM or Shimano 12-speed drivetrains. Giant's dealer network is one of the deepest in the industry, which matters for warranty and after-sales.
Caveats and known gripes.
- SyncDrive Pro 3 is Giant's in-house motor with limited third-party tuning ecosystem compared to Bosch (eBike Flow), DJI (Avinox app) or Shimano (E-TUBE PROJECT). You're locked into Giant's RideControl app for diagnostics and updates.
- 560 Wh battery is small by 2026 standards. Most rivals run 720 to 900 Wh, which translates to meaningful range advantages on long rides.
- 85 Nm torque is below the headline category leaders. Buyers chasing the highest torque figures will look elsewhere.
- Community presence on the forum is limited for the 2026 model — no curated owner quotes yet, so real-world reliability data will accumulate through 2026 and beyond.
Verdict. The Reign Advanced E+ 2026 is one of the most thoughtful carbon enduro eMTB launches of the year, with Giant's deep dealer network, refined Maestro suspension and the most generous geometry adjustability in the segment. It suits riders who value Giant's after-sales support, who don't need headline-grabbing motor torque, and who appreciate the 26-position size/configuration matrix for getting a properly tailored fit. Look elsewhere if you want maximum motor torque (DJI Avinox M2S, Bosch CX Gen 5), the largest available battery, or aftermarket motor tuning ecosystems. Production status: current, three trims, available now.
