EMTB Forums verdict

The GasGas ECC is the brand's race-bred carbon E-Enduro platform, developed in the UCI E-Enduro World Cup with 170 mm front and 160 mm rear travel on full 29in wheels. It runs the SRAM Eagle Powertrain motor (90 Nm, 680 W peak) and a 630 Wh integrated battery, with a long, low geometry built for aggressive descending: a 64 degree head angle, 450 to 500 mm reach across the three sizes and size-specific rear triangles giving 461 to 469 mm chainstays.

Three trims were offered. The flagship ECC 6 at GBP 8,999 pairs DVO Onyx OTT and JadeX coil suspension (DVO units developed in partnership with WP) with a SRAM X0 Transmission, Code RSC brakes, NEWMEN wheels and a RockShox Reverb AXS post, the lightest of the range at a claimed 24.1 kg. The ECC 5 at GBP 7,999 keeps the same DVO suspension and frame but steps to GX Transmission, G2 RS brakes and house-brand finishing kit. The ECC 4 at GBP 6,499 is the value option, swapping to RockShox ZEB Select+ and Super Deluxe Select+ suspension, a mechanical GX Eagle drivetrain and DB8 brakes.

Geometry is shared across all three trims, so the choice is purely about suspension, drivetrain and weight rather than handling. The coil shock fitted across the range and the slack, race-focused numbers point this firmly at enduro racing and steep, technical terrain rather than all-round trail duties.

This is recorded as the 2024 model year. GasGas continues to list the ECC 6, 5 and 4 trims on its current bicycle site with the same SRAM Eagle Powertrain platform.
