Lightweight full-carbon XC/DC e-MTB on TQ HPR50 + 360Wh

The Fantic Rampage 2025 is the Italian brand's lightest carbon trail eMTB, built around the TQ HPR50 motor (50 Nm, 250 W rated, 300 W peak, 1.85 kg) and a removable 360 Wh internal battery. With 140 mm of travel front and rear via a flex-stay four-bar layout, a 65.0° head angle and a claimed 17.5 kg ride weight, the Rampage is positioned as one of the lightest production eMTBs you can buy. UK base trim opens at £8,999, although @Tekmotiv notes the Rampage with the TQ HPR50 motor is available below GBP 4k from some retailers — meaningful end-of-line discounting that changes the value picture entirely.
Drive system and range. The TQ HPR50 is the quietest motor in eMTB at the moment, with a coaxial harmonic-pin-ring drive that delivers a famously natural pedal feel and minimal drag above the 25 km/h cutoff. The 360 Wh internal pack is small by 2025 standards but suits the bike's weight target: at 17.5 kg in size L the Rampage is closer to an analogue trail bike than a full-power eMTB. The optional TQ 160 Wh range extender bolts to the second set of bottle mounts (the Rampage is one of the few carbon eMTBs with two complete sets of bosses), taking effective capacity to 520 Wh for big-day rides. Expect 800-1,200 m of climbing depending on assist mode and rider weight.
Geometry and handling. The single size L tested here runs reach 463 mm, head angle 65°, chainstay 437 mm and wheelbase 1,212 mm. That's modern but moderate trail geometry: more progressive than a Trek Fuel EXe and similar to the Pivot Shuttle SL or Mondraker Neat. The 65° head angle is steeper than what enduro-focused riders want, but the short chainstay and tight wheelbase make the Rampage feel notably playful — the bike rewards a manual, pop and side-load style. With only one size in the gold spec listed, buyers outside the 5'10" to 6'1" window will need to look elsewhere or speak to a Fantic dealer about international model variants which include S and M frames.
Build and value. Fantic offers the Rampage in three trims globally: the 1.4 Sport (SRAM SX, 140 mm) from circa $4,990, the 1.2 Race (120 mm) at $7,890 and the 1.4 Factory at $9,790. The £8,999 base UK price quoted here corresponds to a mid-to-upper trim with Fox Factory suspension and SRAM Eagle Transmission. Frame quality and ride feel get strong press reviews across the lineup, and the use of a flex-stay rear keeps weight and bearing count down.
Caveats and known gripes. The 360 Wh battery is the obvious compromise — riders chasing all-day pedalling will want the range extender from day one. Fantic's UK and US dealer footprint is much smaller than mainstream rivals, so service backup is a real consideration. With only one size in the gold spec data, the Rampage's fit window is narrow — riders need to confirm what frame sizes are actually available in their market. ASTM Cat 4 rating is the norm at this travel/category, and @Adyzakydany flags that Cat 4 limits jumps and drops to 1.2 m, which serious gravity riders should note. The Rampage is fundamentally a trail bike, not an enduro tool.
Verdict. The Fantic Rampage is for the rider who wants a genuinely lightweight (17.5 kg) carbon trail eMTB with the quietest motor on the market, sharp playful geometry and the option of a clean range-extender setup. It is not for buyers who want a deep dealer network, riders chasing full-power torque numbers, or anyone who needs S or XL frame fit. Production status is current and the Rampage continues through 2026 with discounted 2025 stock still available at sharp prices via well-connected European retailers.
