Bosch SX-powered mullet trail eMTB, Split Pivot suspension, 400Wh battery

The Devinci E-Troy 2025 is a Canadian-built aluminium all-mountain eMTB sold in two distinct flavours: the full-power GX with Bosch Performance Line CX (160/150 mm travel, 24.7 kg) and the lightweight Lite GX with Bosch SX (19.1 kg). Headline numbers across the platform: 160 mm front, 150 mm rear, an adjustable 64.0 to 64.7 degree head angle via the bike's High/Low flip-chip, eight effective size options across four physical sizes, and a £5,999 base GX price. The community read on the Lite variant is largely positive, with Bosch SX climbing strong and range comfortably matching mid-tier full-power rivals.
Drive system and range. The GX is built around the Bosch Performance Line CX, a proven full-power unit with strong dealer support and the new Gen 5 firmware refinements available across the line. The Lite GX swaps the heavier CX for the lightweight Bosch SX at 55 Nm and 2.0 kg. fredmotokx measured real-world range on the E-Troy Lite at roughly 800 m vertical climbing on eMTB mode from full charge to zero, 1,000 m in E-tour, and 650 m in Turbo, which is competitive with most 400 Wh lightweight rivals. Emailsucks98 rates the SX as "more power than a Trek Fuel EXe, slightly better range, but louder than a TQ, and with a non-removable battery". jayx4 reports zero issues at 300 miles on the SX-equipped Lite.
Geometry and handling. Devinci uses a Split Pivot rear suspension layout and the bike has a High/Low flip-chip that flips between two distinct geometry numbers per size. Reach progresses from 440 mm (SM Low) through 460 mm (MD), 480 mm (LG) to 500 mm (XL Low), with the High setting shortening chainstay (432 to 442 mm) and steepening the head angle to 64.7 degrees. Low gives 64.0 degree HA with slightly longer chainstays (435 to 445 mm). Wheelbase grows from 1,204 mm in SM up to 1,289 mm in XL Low. The 432 to 445 mm chainstay range is genuinely short for an all-mountain platform, which biases the bike towards lively, manual-friendly handling without sacrificing high-speed composure.
Build and value. Two trims are on file: the GX at £5,999 (full-power, 24.7 kg, alloy) and the Lite GX at £7,499 (lightweight, 19.1 kg, Fox 36 Performance Elite fork, Fox Float X Elite shock, SRAM Code Bronze brakes, SRAM GX mechanical Eagle 12-speed). fredmotokx upgraded the Magura MT5 brakes (on a different Lite trim) to Hayes Dominion A4 and swapped the front tyre to Maxxis Assegai MaxGrip EXO+ as first priorities, suggesting the stock brakes and tyres are the weak link on entry builds.
Community-verified strengths. First, well-judged geometry: e-rico calls the E-Troy "very responsive and fast handling" for the travel, noting the slack head angle is "a little floppy at slow speeds but not noticeable at speed". Second, climbing comfort: the same rider notes power assist is "better at slower cadences of 70 to 80 rpm". Third, drivetrain reliability: jayx4 reports zero problems at 300 miles.
Caveats and known gripes. First, motor noise on the SX variant: Emailsucks98 reports a developed "subtle rattle" after a dozen rides on the Lite. Second, motor-mount creak issues — multiple riders chasing creaks have ended up changing the motor mounting sleeves to permanently fix them. Third, the Lite's non-removable battery, called out by Emailsucks98, limits charging convenience.
Verdict. The Devinci E-Troy 2025 is a strong pick for riders who want a Canadian-built alloy all-mountain platform with thoughtful adjustable geometry, choosing between full-power (GX) and lightweight (Lite GX) based on terrain and riding style. Less suitable for buyers chasing carbon frame weights, premium stock brakes, or motor variants outside the Bosch family. Production status: current.
