Stereo Hybrid 160 2024
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.
Cube's 160mm enduro eMTB on a carbon HPC frameset with Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 Smart System, mullet 29/27.5" wheels and Race / TM / SLT trims.

The Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 2024 is the German brand's enduro-focused sibling to the trail-oriented Stereo Hybrid 140 family, an aluminium (or HPC carbon variant) 4-bar chassis built around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 motor and a 750 Wh PowerTube battery. Headline numbers: 170 mm fork, 160 mm rear travel, Bosch CX Gen 4 at 85 Nm, 750 Wh removable PowerTube, a 65.0 degree head angle, reach 427 to 504 mm across four sizes, 441 mm fixed chainstay, 24.2 kg claimed weight, and £4,999 base price. Production status is discontinued, replaced by the 2025/2026 One44/One77 platforms. The community verdict is that the Stereo Hybrid 160 is a properly capable Bosch CX enduro at a friendly price, though the 65 degree head angle is conservative for a 170/160 mm chassis and Cube's signature delivery-shake-down issues need watching.
Drive system and range. The Bosch CX Gen 4 delivers 85 Nm of torque through the Bosch ecosystem. The 750 Wh PowerTube is removable. Real-world range on the Stereo Hybrid 160 with the 750 Wh battery is documented well by @Colin1517, whose 2022 Stereo 160 with 750 Wh on similar Bosch hardware achieves "30 to 35 miles and landing home with 25% left in the tank, probably another 10-12 miles" on moors and railway-line terrain with plenty of climbing. @joejoejoe reports a "clicking/knocking noise at left crank 7 O'clock position only under load and only when motor is switched on" on a sibling model, the kind of bottom-bracket-area niggle worth checking on any Cube Stereo Hybrid.
Geometry and handling. The 65.0 degree head angle is steeper than category-norm for a 170/160 mm enduro chassis (rivals at the same travel typically run 63 to 64 degrees). Reach progresses 427, 453, 470 and 504 mm across S to XL with a fixed 441 mm chainstay and wheelbase scaling 1190 to 1290 mm. The relatively short rear-centre combined with the steep front gives the bike an agile, playful character that suits singletrack and rolling terrain more than truly steep technical descents. Mullet 29/27.5 setup is the wheel-size default. @Speeeedy documents the platform with "Newmen Evolution SL 318.25 at 760 mm width" handlebar as a starting point for upgrades.
Build and value. The £4,999 base for the alloy variant is the entry point, with trim names Race, TM and SLT stepping up to Fox 38 Float Factory, Fox Float X Factory, Magura MT7 brakes and SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS on the flagship SLT carbon variant. Standout choice across the range is the proper enduro spec at the £4,999 entry: 170 mm fork, 160 mm rear and a 750 Wh battery is meaningfully more than rivals at this price. Questionable is the 65 degree head angle in the 2024 enduro market and the consistent Cube finishing-quality issues (Stereo Hybrid 160 owners report shock paint stripping, battery rattles and shock-bolt torque issues at delivery, mirroring the wider Cube quality-control narrative).
Community-verified strengths. First, real-world range: @Colin1517's 30 to 35 mile rides with 25% remaining are solid for a 750 Wh Bosch system on mixed terrain. Second, upgrade flexibility: @Speeeedy's 2021 Race upgrade to Fox 36-E Float Performance fork and Fox Float X Performance shock confirms the chassis takes higher-spec suspension well. Third, the value proposition: at £4,999 for a 750 Wh Bosch CX Gen 4 with 170/160 mm of travel, the Stereo Hybrid 160 punches well above its price point.
Caveats and known gripes. The historic finishing-quality issues on Cube's Stereo line are the headline flag, particularly the rear shock interfering with the frame paint and bolt torques arriving below spec. The 65 degree head angle is conservative for the enduro travel. The platform is discontinued in 2024, replaced by the One44/One77 line, so warranty and parts support continues but new-stock availability is dwindling. @joejoejoe's clicking-noise issue under motor load is the kind of unscheduled service visit to budget for. @thetyrant documents standard 608 bearings on the pivots, which is good news for cheap aftermarket replacement.
Verdict. The Stereo Hybrid 160 2024 is discontinued but remaining stock represents one of the strongest 170/160 mm full-power enduro values on the European market at sub-£5,000. Buy it if you can find dealer stock at discount, you ride more rolling than steeply technical terrain (matching the 65 degree head angle), and you want a proven 85 Nm Bosch CX Gen 4 motor with a 750 Wh battery for the money. Look elsewhere if you want modern 63-to-64-degree enduro geometry, the latest 2026 platform (Cube's One platform replaces this), or you cannot accept Cube's known delivery-niggle reputation. The Stereo Hybrid 160 remains a value-oriented enduro option for the right rider.
