EMTB Forums verdict

The Crestline RS 181 Spectre 2025 is a limited-run, 99-frame boutique enduro frameset built in high-modulus carbon and powered by the DJI Avinox M1. Headline numbers: 180 mm front and 181 mm rear travel (adjustable to 161 or 169 mm via flip-chip), Avinox M1 at 105 Nm and 1000 W peak, 800 Wh removable Avinox FP800 battery, 63.5 degree head angle, reach 450 to 505 mm across three sizes, 21.8 kg claimed for the frameset build, $6,999 USD for the frameset including shock. The community verdict, per @slickrock, is that this was the "first DJI Avinox bike after Amflow to come out and first enduro version with DJI motor", a marketing-genius scarcity launch on a proven Crestline chassis.

Drive system and range. The Avinox M1 with 800 Wh FP800 battery is the same drive system as the Amflow but, crucially for boutique buyers, @Plummet highlights the Crestline as the "first and only removable battery DJI option" at launch, which is a deal-maker for riders who refuse non-removable packs. @GeorgesEBike rode an entire 14 mile, 2,420 ft loop in Turbo (105 Nm/800 W) and still had 51% battery left. At 2,000 miles in he reports no motor or frame issues and the motor rattle has not worsened with use, sitting "about the same as the Bosch Gen 5" climbing and "noticeably quieter" descending.

Geometry and handling. The 63.5 degree head angle is bang on enduro-park norm. Reach goes 450, 480 and 505 mm across the three sizes (RH-2 to RH-4), with wheelbase scaling 1245 to 1303 mm. The headline trick is the modular dropouts: chainstays adjust 435 to 465 mm in 5 mm increments, plus the rear travel flip-chip switches between 161, 169 and 181 mm, and MX or full 29 setup is supported. The 56 mm head tube allows angle-adjusting headset cups for an even slacker front. @Rob Rides EMTB reports it "measures bigger than the geo chart" and feels brilliantly composed despite its on-paper numbers. Suspension kinematics per @MTB_MIKE show approximately 130% anti-squat at sag (high for climbing comfort) and a coil-friendly leverage curve.

Build and value. Sold as a frameset only at $6,999 including the RockShox Vivid Ultimate 205x65 mm coil shock. Built up like @GeorgesEBike's RH-3 example with ZEB Ultimate 180, Reverb AXS 175, SRAM GX Transmission, Maven Ultimate Stealth brakes and a 350 lb coil spring, the complete bike weighs 53.11 lbs (24.1 kg). Standout choice is the modular geometry adjustability and the customer's choice of suspension. Questionable areas: @John_likes_bikes notes a 175 mm Reverb AXS does not fully insert into the RH-2 (about 15 to 20 mm proud), and @BikingBad flags insufficient mudguard clearance at the 435 mm dropout setting.

Community-verified strengths. First, the chassis is rated as one of the best feeling e-enduro platforms anywhere, with @Rob Rides EMTB reporting the mullet long-rear-centre setup puts "tons of grip on the front wheel". Second, the Avinox motor in this proven Crestline chassis is described by @GeorgesEBike at 2,000 miles as "the best bike I've ever thrown a leg over". Third, configurability via flip-chip travel and modular dropouts means the bike can be tuned from 161 mm trail to 181 mm park, with mullet or 29 rear.

Caveats and known gripes. Scarcity is the obvious one: only 99 framesets exist for 2025, all sold. The v2 (2026) update from @John_likes_bikes moves the charge port and routes the brake line through the chainstay instead of seat stay. @John_likes_bikes notes Crestline did not add an idler pulley to the v2, unlike the DH bike. Boutique service network and frameset-only sale means you must build and dealer-support the bike yourself.

Verdict. The RS 181 Spectre is in current production as a sold-out 2025 limited run, with the revised v2 carrying over. Buy a v2 if you want the most adjustable Avinox-powered enduro chassis on the market with removable battery and you can support a custom frameset build. Look elsewhere if you need full-bike pricing, off-the-shelf availability or a dealer service network.
