Aluminium DJI Avinox-powered enduro eMTB

The Commencal Meta Power 2025 is an aluminium mullet e-enduro built around the DJI Avinox M1 motor and a removable 800Wh battery. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 160mm rear, 105Nm and a 1000W peak from the 2.52kg M1, 22.4kg claimed at the Signature trim, 64.0 degree head angle and reach 440 to 515mm across S to XL. From GBP 7,995 for the Signature build. Community read is that the Avinox-Commencal pairing is one of the standout enduro launches of 2025, with @bighungry34 calling the DJI drive unit "just next level" after migrating from a SRAM-powered Ekano.
Drive system and range. The DJI Avinox M1 is the most powerful production eMTB motor on the market in 2025, with 105Nm at the crank and a 1000W peak that Avinox can sustain longer than any rival thanks to large gearbox surface area and aggressive thermal mapping. The 800Wh FP800 battery is removable for storage and travel. @bighungry34 upgraded brakes (TRP DH-R EVO Pro), fork (RockShox ZEB) and wheels but kept the motor stock, reporting agile, poppy handling and unprecedented shove. The integrated touchscreen top-tube display, anti-theft alarm and 4G/GPS are stock features inherited from the Avinox ecosystem.
Geometry and handling. 64.0 degrees up front is genuine enduro territory and 5mm slacker than the Meta Power's old EP8 frame. Reach steps cleanly: 440 (S), 465 (M), 490 (L), 515 (XL). Chainstays are a uniform 460mm and wheelbase tops out at 1340mm on XL. The mullet wheel setup (29 front, 27.5 rear) and 460mm rear centre keep cornering surprisingly snappy for a 22.4kg long-travel bike. Older Meta Power riders such as @Tamas called the previous platform a "nimble tank, an absolute beast up and down" and the 2025 geometry sharpens that further.
Build and value. One frame, three suspension tiers. Signature (GBP 7,995, 22.4kg) gets FOX 36 Factory and Float X Factory, Shimano XT 4-piston brakes and SRAM GX Eagle T-Type AXS. Above that the Podium trim runs FOX Podium Factory Grip X2, Float X2 Factory and SRAM X0 T-Type AXS. Below, the Essential build steps down to FOX Performance suspension, TRP DH-R EVO Pro brakes and SRAM Eagle 90 T-Type mechanical. The 22.4kg system weight with a 800Wh battery is the headline: very few full-power enduro bikes come this light in alloy.
Community-verified strengths.
- Motor character. @bighungry34 calls the M1 "insane power" and "next level" versus the SRAM Eagle Powertrain on his previous Ekano.
- Geometry. The bike rides as a "nimble tank" per legacy owner @Tamas; 64 degrees and 460mm rear centre is balanced enduro geometry.
- Frame durability. @irie reports 5,000 miles on an earlier Meta Power Rail with zero motor failures, broken components or warranty claims, a strong indicator of Commencal alloy durability.
- Local support. @KRC96 chose Commencal partly because Commencal US HQ is close to him in Colorado, a meaningful change from buying direct-to-consumer from YT or Canyon.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Lead times. @bighungry34 ordered in July and waited several months for delivery; demand for Avinox bikes is outstripping supply across the industry.
- Aluminium frame weight floor. 22.4kg is light for full-power, but a carbon Avinox rival like the Amflow PL Carbon drops below 20kg.
- Shock length is fixed. @sergiotudela confirms Commencal restricts the shock to 230x60mm; coil and longer travel conversions are not supported.
- Price climb. @501AM notes Meta Power SX Avinox is ~EUR 2,500 more than a YT Decoy X, though spec and motor differ materially.
Verdict. The 2025 Meta Power is the most accessible way into a DJI Avinox enduro rig from a brand with established service channels and a long alloy heritage. It suits enduro riders chasing the most powerful drive unit on the market with proper local support and a no-nonsense aluminium platform. Riders chasing sub-22kg, a carbon frame or a cheaper Avinox option should look at Amflow or the YT Decoy X. Production status: current.
