EMTB Forums verdict

The BH Atom X Lynx Pro 2025 is a full-power carbon enduro eMTB built around the Brose Drive S Mag motor, sitting at the budget-aggressive end of the 160 mm class. Headline numbers: 90 Nm of torque, 720 Wh removable battery, 160 mm of travel front and rear, a 65.0 degree head angle, 23.0 kg claimed and a £3,499 base price that undercuts almost every direct-sales rival in the segment. With no community quotes on file yet, this verdict draws purely on the gold spec sheet and published BH platform context.

Drive system and range. The Brose Drive S Mag is one of the quietest, most natural-feeling full-power units in production, with 90 Nm of torque and a 565 W manufacturer-claimed peak, fed by a 720 Wh BH-branded battery integrated into the down tube. The Drive S Mag uses a triple sensor and runs up to 130 rpm cadence across five assist levels, with a Boost mode delivering up to 410% support. The 720 Wh battery is removable, which matters for owners without garage charging, and for an enduro-weight bike with a heavily geared motor character it should comfortably clear three to four hours of mixed trail riding before reserves bite. Buyers should note that the Brose Mag has historically had a stronger reputation for refinement than for outright peak power, so this is a smoother and quieter platform than a Bosch CX Gen 5 or a DJI Avinox M2S, not an outright torque monster.

Geometry and handling. The Atom X uses BH's Split Pivot rear suspension layout, with reach progressing from 423 mm in size S to 450 mm (M), 470 mm (L) and 485 mm in XL. The head angle is fixed at 65.0 degrees across the range and the chainstay is a consistent 454 mm. By 2025 enduro-eMTB standards, a 65 degree head angle is on the steeper side of the bracket (most direct rivals run 64.5 degrees or slacker), which suggests a bike biased towards quicker steering and tight, technical climbing rather than outright high-speed stability. The 454 mm chainstay is moderate and should give a settled feel in the air without rear-heavy bias. Size M riders will find the 450 mm reach slightly conservative by modern standards; tall riders are well served by the 485 mm XL.

Build and value. Only the single base trim is on file at £3,499 for the carbon frame, Brose Drive S Mag motor and 720 Wh battery. At that price point this is one of the cheapest routes into a 160 mm full-power carbon enduro eMTB anywhere in the UK market, and the build is anchored by Shimano transmission and braking. The trade-off is that BH's distinctive vertical-motor packaging is dictated by the battery-down-tube layout, which polarises riders on aesthetics and on standover. As ever with BH, the spec-per-pound is generous; the question is whether the design quirks suit you.

Verdict. The BH Atom X Lynx Pro 2025 makes most sense for a rider who wants a quiet, refined full-power 160 mm enduro eMTB at a price that no mainstream brand can match, and who values the Brose Drive S Mag's smooth, naturalistic power delivery over outright peak torque. It is less convincing for racers chasing the very slackest head angles, or buyers who want the very latest high-cadence motors (Bosch CX Gen 5, DJI Avinox M2S, Specialized Levo Gen 4) and adjustable geometry. With no rider voice on file yet, prospective buyers should demo before committing, particularly on standover and motor character. Production status: current.
